019 • Steamrollers
Said a drunk, in a park, in Manhattan.
‘I’m beginning to notice a pattern:
When steamrollers pass
Where I lie on the grass
It tends to be me that they flatten.’
I was thinking of Sondheim, ‘Sunday in the Park’ or whatever it’s called, but didn’t quite stay on the rails. I’m not sure when steamrollers last ran in New York. This is an historical piece.
